Amsterdam's Canal District is a remnant of the Golden Age, a time when the Dutch led the world in trade, art and architecture.

According to the Amsterdam Tourism & Convention Board, 40% of all tourists visit the city every year for the city center and the canal district and for it's culture, history and flowers. The Amsterdam Canal District has more than hundred kilometres of canals and canal houses with more than 1500 bridges and about 90 islands.
